These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Nitpickr website at nitpickr.uk. By accessing or using Nitpickr you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. The Service

Nitpickr is a community site where registered users can post, discuss, and vote on continuity errors, plot holes, and factual mistakes in films. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not create an account using someone else's identity or email address, or operate multiple accounts to circumvent a ban.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post ("User Content"). By posting, you grant Nitpickr a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, store, and distribute your User Content as part of operating the service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You warrant that it:

is your own original work or you have the right to post it;
does not infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
does not violate any applicable law or regulation.

4. Prohibited Conduct

When using Nitpickr you must not:

Post content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive toward any person.
Post hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive content.
Impersonate any person, character, or entity.
Post sexually explicit material.
Share personal information of third parties without their consent.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems.
Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the site in a manner that harms performance for other users.
Use the site in any way that violates UK law or the laws of your jurisdiction.

5. Content Moderation

We reserve the right — but have no obligation — to review, edit, or remove any User Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or permanent banning without notice or refund.

You may report content that you believe violates these Terms by using the "Report" button on any nitpick or reply.

6. Intellectual Property

The Nitpickr name, logo, site design, and all non-user-generated content are the property of Nitpickr and may not be reproduced without permission. Movie titles, posters, and metadata displayed on the site are the property of their respective rights holders and are used for identification and commentary purposes.

7. Disclaimers

Nitpickr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. User Content reflects the views of individual users and not those of Nitpickr.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Nitpickr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed £100.

9. Links to Third-Party Sites

Nitpickr may contain links to external websites (e.g. IMDB, TMDB). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites and provide links for convenience only.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of Nitpickr after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
