Factual error by cterry48 · 20 Mar 2023
In the scene near the Washington Monument, Steve Trevor identifies an overhead plane that is clearly a TWA Airbus A320 or A319. This creates two distinct errors: - The Date: The Airbus A320 family did not enter commercial service until 1988, making it impossible to see in 1984. - The Airline: TWA did not operate the A320/A319 aircraft.

In the mall arcade scene, the four-player Gauntlet cabinet is visible in the background. It’s a historical error since the game didn't come out until 1985.

Plot hole by carriemclean · 18 Apr 2025
Max Lord ignoring the rules of the wishing stone for Barbara really undermines the entire conflict. The movie goes out of its way to establish that everyone only gets one wish, and Max is strictly enforced about it, he even blows up at his son for wasting his turn. Pivoting to "feeling generous" to give Barbara a second wish just ignores the established stakes. It’s even worse because her second wish by definition replaces the first, so the filmmakers didn't actually need him to violate the rules to get the outcome they wanted.

Because of this, flying a jet engine through a display would be disastrous; ingesting the high-heat metallic debris would cause serious damage to the engine's internal components
