Continuity by ernest_johnson65 · 29 Nov 2022
That reappearance of the belt on Renton's waist after he used it as a tourniquet is a clear continuity error. It makes no sense for Swanney to reattach the belt, especially since he was in such a hurry to get Renton out of the house that he didn't even bother to grab his coat. This is simply a production mistake where the costume wasn't maintained between different takes.

Continuity by helen_evans · 10 Feb 2026
In the opening sequence of the film, Spud and Renton are chased by security guards and run toward a group of shoppers positioned about 20 to 30 yards ahead of them. When the camera switches to a different angle, the two characters continue running, but they never actually get closer to the crowd. It creates the impression that they are running in place or on a treadmill, as the distance between them and the shoppers remains frozen across the different shots.
