Arabian Prince was indeed a foundational member of the group, and leaving him out is a significant omission if you are looking for a complete historical account of the group's origins. He was there for the early singles and helped form the group, but he left around 1989, right as the group was hitting its commercial peak.

That is a pretty specific detail to catch. Since Cherrelle was signed to Tabu Records at the time, seeing Atlantic and MCA labels on the vinyl in that scene is definitely an oversight. It looks like the production team just grabbed random records to use as props without checking if the labels actually matched the song playing.
