When Lewis is bowfishing from the canoe, the close-up shot shows his arrow hitting the trout right behind its head. However, when he actually pulls the fish into the boat, the arrow is suddenly sticking right through the middle of its body.

After Jon Voight's character ties a rock to the dead mountain man to dump him into the river, the actor playing the corpse takes two deep breaths right before being rolled into the water. In that exact same shot, as his chest heaves from breathing, you can also see him flinch and move the pinky finger on his left hand.

When the mountain man grins at Jon Voight's character while he's tied to the tree, you can tell that his supposedly missing front tooth hasn't actually been pulled. If you look closely, the tooth is just painted black to make it look like it's gone.

Right before the end of the movie when they are going through the rapids, Burt Reynolds' life jacket shifts around between shots. Depending on the camera angle, the jacket sits noticeably higher or lower on his torso from one second to the next.

While Jon Voight's character is rappelling down the cliff face, you can spot a crew member hiding behind the trees at the top of the cliff, actively feeding him the rope.
