Synopsis

The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

Although the closed captions indicate that Juror 7 tells Juror 6 he has tickets to see the Twins play the Yankees, he actually says "Cleveland." The Minnesota Twins did not exist in 1956, as they did not join the American League until 1961.

Although many of the characters, including Juror 7, take off their coats early in the film, Juror 7 is seen wearing his coat again in the shot following Juror 4 flicking the knife open, while the camera focuses on Juror 8's reaction.

During the washroom break, Juror #6 fiddles with the fan's cord and leaves it dangling a couple of feet from the unit. When Juror #8 exits the washroom, the cord is no longer visible. Later, when Juror #7 plugs the fan in after the light switch is turned on, the extra length of the cord is gone.

Within the final 30 minutes of the movie, the wall clock in the jury room indicates 6:15, and it remains at that time even after E.G. Marshall confirms it is "a quarter after six." Later, when Lee J. Cobb leans over the table after tearing up a snapshot from his wallet, his watch displays 5:10.
